Malta’s Got Talent – Episode 5 01st Nov 2020

Sunday seems to come quickly meaning the beginning of a new week is just a few hours away.  However, at least, there is Malta’s Got Talent on TVM for those seeking some variety entertainment at home. This is the 5th episode in this season’s series. Tonight we get to see more entertaining acts ranging from a Strongman to a traditional Maltese Song act. Most of tonight’s acts are dominated by children ranging from 5 to 12 year olds.

However the highlight of the evening comes at the end of the show, by our host Gordon Bonello. His Golden Buzzer passes the deserving act straight through to the semi finals.  In all the judges let  8 acts through with their Yes votes, 1 act with the Golden Buzzer, leaving 2 acts that do not make it through. As usual here’s our run down of tonight’s acts making it through the next stage.

Tonight’s Act
The Solo Dancer

First to open tonight’s show is 21 year old dancer, Isaiah Muscat. Isaiah is from Gozo but has been living in the UK where he was undergoing a scholarship as a dance student in Leicester. Asaiah goes on to impress the judges with an energetic solo dance routine earning the act 4 Yesses from the judges.

The Young Singer

The second person on the Malta’s Got Talent stage tonight is 10 year old Andrea. Andrea goes on to impress the judges with a strong voice for her age that wins 4 Big Yesses from the judging panel. Watch the video and tell us if you like what you hear!

The Musician

Chris Tanti is 28 and from Rabat. Chris who for the past 5 years is playing the guitar on a full time basis, goes on to entertain the judges with his melodic tune. The judges pass him through the next stage with 4 Yesses. Enjoy Chris’s style hereunder.

The Bubbly Singer

Next to go is 11 year old Thais Farrugia. Thais despite having to use a leg support for one of her legs and a heartwarming story, goes on to give the judges a bubbly interpretation of the song ‘All About The Bass’. Her rendition is presented in a Blues / Jazz style presentation. She earns the sympathy  of the judges for her story but the 4 Yesses for a her song.

The Dance Team

Southville Dancers are a dance team with ages ranging between 21-33 years old and they are next to go. On stage they present a sharp dance performance, showing great presence and precision. This earns them 4 Yesses fro our beloved Judges.

Another Young Singer

Tonight we are being treated with young talent. Next on stage is 10 year old Layla Pulis from Valletta. Layla impresses the judges with a powerful voice when she reaches the refrain of Lady Gaga’s ‘Into The Shallows‘. This in turn earns her the 4 Yesses she wants from the judges.

The Strongman Act

Paul Grima is 70 years old and he is standing on stage up next to show off his talents. Mr Cool, ‘Broken Bones’ as he wants to be called, has been training since he was 16 years old. He went on training to become a strong man act at 44 years. Paul entertainers the viewers and judges as he plays his pipe and then his assistant, breaks a stone on his head. Ok it’s a weird act but it did its job and got Paul the judges’ approval with 4 Yesses. Watch this below.

The Father And Son Owl Show

Up next are Lawrence and Carl and Nina. Lawernece is Carl’s father and Nina is their male owl. That’s right a male owl called Nina. They go on to show us and the judges Nina’s abilities with the host Gordon doing his bit too! Watch this to learn why this owl’s name is Nina!

The Cute Dancing Duo

Sy and Izaya are 9 years old each. They bring to the Malta’s Got Talent stage a sweet dramatic melody of different dance styles ranging from Cha Cha to Rock and Roll. Their energetic moves earns them the 4 Yesses they deserve, getting them through to the next stages of the competition.

A Traditional Father and Son Act

You may think that one father and son act for the night would be enough. But viewers are surprised with yet another father and son act when on stage there is 5 year old Layden and his father Joemike. They go on to present their act consisting of a traditional ‘Makjetti’. Makjetti is a style of a traditional Maltese humorous song that may be sung as a solo or as a duet. Watch this lovely act and why it earns Gordon’s Golden Buzzer Push!

Conclusion

So that is one more  episode of Malta’s Got Talent 2020 over. Tonight’s show did offer a variety of acts, each great in their own merits. Apart from the strongman and owl acts, we did not see any type of circus acts but that was not disappointing. We at Entertainmentmalta.com are happy with Gordon’s choice to give the Makjetti act his Golden Buzzer push as this is a dying tradition that needs to survive.

As usual we look forward to the next episode of this series with more surprises in store for us viewers.  Tune into this website as we sum up all the acts that are making it to the stage here on Entertainment Malta.
